Windows 11 now has camera options in the Quick Settings, letting you take pictures and videos with your phone. This is a great addition, as it makes it easier to capture memories and moments.
As videoconferencing apps keep become more common, you need to keep your computer’s camera feed looking sharp. Now, you can quickly change your camera’s settings with a new, handy toggle on Windows 11.
The new build 22623.885 that is now rolling out to Windows Insiders testers comes with a new button on the operating system’s quick settings panel. It’s called “Studio effects,” and allows you to see your camera feed and tweak several settings, like background blur, eye contact, automatic framing, and voice focus.
Windows Studio was already available from the Settings app, as long as your PC has a neural processing unit (NPU), and the new quick access version has the same requirement. Of course, not many computers come with an NPU — examples of PCs that do come with one include the Surface Pro X — but this might become a more common sight in the future.
If you want to check it out, make sure you’re using the latest Insider build — and if you experience any issues, make sure to report them.
